I teach in-home lessons in Brooklyn and Manhattan. I also offer virtual lessons via zoom.TEACHING PHILOSOPHY
Learning the piano should be fun, providing students the bedrock to explore their musical interests and showing them new pathways that they never knew existed. My goal is for each student to make music they love while progressing and learning the fundamentals of their instrument. I teach in a variety of styles, and I tailor lessons to explore each student's interests. That usually includes a mixture of classical, jazz, pop, rock and music games for younger students. I enjoy teaching students of all ages and strive to provide the best possible music education for every student. Studying music is exciting, creative, expressive, and very rewarding. Learning an instrument shows students the value of discipline in reaching their goals. I hope each of my students will build skills and develop musical passions and curiosities that will last for their entire lives.I also teach music theory for those students who are interested.Beginning students learn the basics through working in the Piano Adventures Method Books (https://pianoadventures.com).

Studio Policy + Rates
STUDIO POLICYPractice:
Daily practice is encouraged. Length of practice will vary based on the student’s level of advancement. In my experience, the students who have the most success are the ones who make it a responsibility to make practice time part of the student’s daily schedule. For younger students, the more parent involvement and support you can give to your student’s practice, the better and faster they will progress. I write detailed notes on what to practice for the week after each lesson.Tuition:
First introductory lesson is free.
Lesson Length | Rate |

Payment
After the first lesson, payments are made in monthly installments in advance of the coming month. Minimum purchase of 4 to 5 lessons per month, depending on how many weeks your lesson day falls within the month (with a minimum of 3 lessons for November, December, January, and April to account for holidays). Extra lessons can always be added at the rates specified above. Payment is due before your first lesson of the month regardless of how many make-up lessons are remaining from the previous month.Student Absences
I'm always willing to find a time to reschedule in the event of a schedule conflict with your lesson. Make-up lessons must be scheduled within one month of the cancelled lesson or the student will forfeit that lesson. Make-up lessons cannot be used to replace our regular lessons in the next month and must be scheduled in addition to the regularly scheduled lessons for the month. This applies for summer months as well.Cancellations with under 24 hours notice (aside from illness, accident, family emergency) will result in the student forfeiting the lesson fee. Please do tell me if the student or anyone in the household is ill and I'll happily do zoom lessons or reschedule for another date.Lessons during the summer months of June, July, and August can be paid on a weekly basis or monthly basis depending on student preference.Teacher Absences
I reserve the right to miss lessons due to illness or personal commitments. A make-up lesson or a refund for the cost of the lesson is guaranteed if such a case arises.
